The boom nose made a solid contact with the power lines

Some local reports suggest that the power lines came down on the crane’s boom after one of the lifts damaged a telegraph pole. The injured man was treated at the scene and no one else was hurt.

Not only did the setup plan miss its mark, I have to wonder if the crew did an EHAP plan before setting the outriggers (jack legs). The photo shows the boom way too close to the power lines, even if they were higher to begin with. Not only was the truck demolished but the crew will have a lasting picture of the incident which might demolish their desire to do tree work ever again. What a shame this happened.
