First Geda 2PK for Oz

The first Geda 2 PK tower crane hoist to be sold in Australia has been delivered to the CFMEU training centre in Melbourne, Victoria

The new hoist will be used by the CFMEU union in conjunction with a new Liebherr tower crane which has been installed for operator and service technician training purposes...

The union provides a comprehensive range of training programmes for all CFMEU members employed in the construction industry. The hoist whisks operators and instructors to the cab, eliminating the need for the arduous climb up and down and are particularly appreciated in poor weather.

The Geda 2PK hoist

The GEDA 2 PK is designed to transport two people, with a load capacity of 200 kg so that material required for maintenance tasks can also be transported with a lift speed of 25 metres a minute, with standard heights of up to 120 metres. Greater heights are possible on request.

The cage has an entry ramp for safe easy access, when opening the cage door, the ramp with side protection, folds down and together with the access barrier forms safe access to the crane.

In addition to the main controls in the cage, the 2 PK has an additional ground control station or as an option at the upper exit point. In high wind speeds, the crane operator can also guide the cage from the upper landing gates downwards and then park the hoist cage at the base to reduce wind forces on the top of the crane. The hoist is also a major advantage in the case of emergency rescue.
