Bratthauar to retire

Ted Bratthauar, vice president of purchasing at Manitowoc Cranes, is set to retire after more than 30 years.

Bratthauar is well-known in the crane industry, having worked in in a number of senior positions at Grove, Grove-Manlift, National Crane and Manitowoc.

He began his career with Grove in 1981 as director of purchasing and then vice president sales and marketing for Grove Manlift in the Americas, vice president of customer support-worldwide and general manager of National Crane - where he oversaw the move of the business from Nebraska to Shady Grove. He was appointed to his current post in 2006. His successor as head of purchasing will be Mary O’Toole.

Commenting on his retirement, Bratthauar said: “I have truly enjoyed working for a living, and I look forward to living and not working for it.”

Manitowoc acquired Grove in 2002.
