First EnCORE partner in Europe

Manitowoc Crane Care has appointed its first EnCORE partner in the European, Africa and Middle East region.

Danish company UN Mobilkraner - which has worked with Manitowoc since 1994 - now offers fully certified repair and refurbishment services for Grove cranes in Scandinavia, under the Manitowoc Crane Care brand.

The EnCORE partner programme began in 2011 in the USA and has grown to a network of 10 partners providing customers with a local option for certified repair and refurbishment services. The success of the programme in North America has prompted its expansion internationally, with further European region appointments planned for this year.

UN Mobilkraner will carry out all EnCORE work under the guidance of the Manitowoc Crane Care office in the UK, headed by director Peter Boyes-Korkis.

Niels Hoffman, general manager of UN Mobilkraner said: “We are very proud to achieve EnCORE partner status and to offer even more service to our customers. This will further strengthen our long-standing relationship with Manitowoc and ensure we remain at the leading edge of crane services in Scandinavia.”

Gilberto Ferreira, global EnCORE general manager added: “We are delighted to award UN Mobilkraner full certification to carry out approved refurbishments as our first EnCORE partner in the region, and look forward to confirming other appointments in the coming months. The EnCORE programme not only provides customers with additional services at a local level but gives dealers the backing and support to provide services of the highest quality.”

To qualify for the programme, dealers must cover additional training for technical staff, including advanced training for welders to earn the correct certifications for welding structural components on cranes. They must also add a trained structural engineer to their staff to deal directly with Manitowoc on technical issues.
