Facelift opens Liverpool depot and training centre

UK powered access rental and training specialist Facelift has opened a new depot in Kirkby, Liverpool, creating 20 new jobs in the area. Based on the Knowsley Industrial Estate the facility also includes a dedicated 5,000 sq ft, 12.5 metre high building for the work at height training centre in response to a growing demand for health and safety training such as courses from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and the Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association (PASMA).

Training will run daily, and be delivered by the company’s onsite specialists.
Gordon Leicester, managing director of Facelift said: “We’re delighted to be opening this new depot in Liverpool, and we’ve already started working with several local clients. Our expertise, continual re-investment in the quality of our equipment and reputation for delivering a first-class service means we have quickly become very successful in every area of the country we operate in.”

“Even more exciting is the launch of our indoor training school. The best businesses know that health and safety training isn’t optional, it should be at the core of any strategy. Good training doesn’t just ensure your employees all make it home at the end of the day it can also improve your company’s productivity and improve the confidence of all staff involved in work at height activity."

“Despite this, last year, the Health and Safety Executive reported seven deaths and 308 serious injuries on construction sites in the North West. Proper training is the single most important thing we can do to prevent needless deaths like these happening.”

Speaking about the launch of the indoor training school, Ewan Smith, manager of Facelift’s Kirkby depot, added: “Safety is paramount when working at height, so being able to offer a ‘one stop shop’ for both health and safety training and equipment hire is already proving very popular with our customers. We’ve had enquiries from as far afield as Scotland and from everyone from construction contractors to tree surgeons.”
