Unreported accident?

A reader has sent us information on a recently posted YouTube video clip which seems to show a van mounted aerial work platform that was clipped by a bus, possibly causing injury to those working form the platform.

We often receive examples like this which turn out to be very old with little information available. In this case the video clip was, we are told, only posted within the past week or so and seems to have occurred in the Wessex utility region of the UK.

What it does highlight is the risks associated with working alongside open traffic lanes. In this case the lift is set well back and there looks to be plenty of cones etc, however while up working the operator can lose spatial awareness and easily take his platform out into the line of high sided vehicles.

UPDATE

We now know that this indicent occured in Bristol on Friday Novemeber 10th and that the operator walked away unharmed thanks to his harness and lanyard.
