New Flagship crane for Titan

Crane rental company Titan Cranes has taken delivery of the first 350 tonne Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 All Terrain crane in New Zealand.

The new unit is one of four new cranes the company has purchased this year in order to meet increasing customer demand for larger capacity cranes.

The six-axle LTM 1350 has a 70 metre main boom and has been supplied with Y-Guy boom suspension system and 78 metre luffing jib, providing a maximum under-hook-height of 134 metres. Additional features on the crane include a Bluetooth terminal handset, ZF-TC Tronic transmission and an improved braking system.

Gordon Stone, chief executive of Titan Cranes, said: “This crane is an important part of our future plans and although bigger than its predecessor, the LTM 1350-6.1 is extremely versatile for its size and will cover a wide range of lifting work.”

Titan Cranes was founded in 1965 with five cranes and a maximum lifting capacity of 18 tonnes. Today it has a fleet of over 50 cranes topped by the new LTM 1350. Its head office is located on the south coast of the north island in Wellington and it also has branches in New Plymouth, Christchurch and Dunedin.
