Tower crane collapse

A tower crane is reported to have collapsed near to the fairway of the Alcaidesa golf course near Sotogrande, Spain, due to neglect. No one was hurt in the incident and property damage was minor.

According to local reports the crane is one of many in the area that have been left erected, but unused, on building sites closed due to the property crash. Some of them have been standing with no maintenance for several years and are now weakened by years of wind and salt air.

This latest incident, which we have not yet been able to corroborate, could be a sign of a major issue in the region. If any readers in the area have more information or photographs please do let us know.
