Team two takes off

Lavendon Team One handed over to Team Two in Liege yesterday, the first leg was a steep uphill climb dodging the city traffic of Liège while fighting the pollution, cobbles and pot holes.

The day began with a really cold morning forcing the cyclists to don their coats for the first three hours of the ride. However it brightened up from about 11am. The team arrived in Charleroi at 16:30, so the 121km took around 8.5 hours.

This morning the team set off on the 118 km leg to Avelin, near Lille in France, where it will hand over to Team three and the weekend shift which will reach Calais tomorrow and then Cliffe in the UK on Sunday.

The teams will be raising money for charities selected by employees in each of the four countries. The charities chosen were Cancer Research (UK), Centre Accueil Alzheimer (Belgium), En France et Partage (France) and Dolphin Aid (Germany).

At the end of the challenge, the high-specification bikes will be subject to a free prize draw. All donors who register a donation at: www.justgiving.com/Lavendon-Group-PLC will be entered in the draw. Once the £600 donation mark is reached, a further bike will be made available for the draw.
