Wynne gains ARA Rental Market Metrics certification

Wynne Systems has become the first software company to achieve ARA Rental Market Metrics certification.

ARA Rental Market Metrics defines industry standards for the definition of a day, original equipment cost, physical and financial utilisation, fleet age and percentage change in period-over-period rental rates. It is intended to provide rental companies with a consistent way of calculating and reporting this data.

ARA chief executive Christine Wehrman said: “The ARA has been working with software companies to license and certify the use of ARA Rental Market Metrics to further the growth and professionalism of rental companies within the industry and help analysts and financial institutions better understand the equipment rental industry. We congratulate Wynne on being the first software company to achieve certification.”

John McClelland ARA’s vice president for government affairs and author of ARA Rental Market Metrics said: “Several key performance metrics are unique to our industry. Most of these are associated with fleet efficiency and utilisation. The lack of consistency in reporting them makes it virtually impossible for industry analysts and investors to make meaningful comparisons among rental businesses in the industry.”
