Fatal tree trimmer

A man was electrocuted while trimming trees in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon after he grabbed chains hanging from a crane that was too close to the power lines.

The man was, we understand, in the tree which he was cutting into sections to be lifted out of the yard. As he reached up to grab the lifting chains to sling a new chunk of the tree, he received the electrical shock.

He was lowered to the ground but had already stopped breathing and the emergency services were unable to save his life.
