First Challenger in Scotland

Scottish crane rental company AB2000 has taken delivery of the first 60 tonne Terex Challenger AC3180 in Scotland. The three-axle AC3180’s main boom and swing-away extension provides up to 70 metres under hook height.

The Glasgow based company has also ordered an 80 tonne AC80-2 All Terrain crane which is due for delivery in October.

AB2000’s managing director Adam Bruce said: “We chose the Challenger for a number of reasons, but mainly for its versatility and long boom length. It offers great mobility and exceptional manoeuvrability which is what our customers demand. Representing the latest and best in crane technology, it was a logical and natural choice, especially as we already enjoy a successful, long standing relationship with Terex.”
