Trolley failure fatal

A man has died yesterday after a cable supposedly failed on a tower crane in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India

The information that we have received is a little confusing, but suggests that the failure of the lift trolley cable failed causing the trolley to break free as well as the crane to drop the concrete slab it was lifting.

The site after the incident for which details are hazy

Umesh Rai, 42, died at the scene, while two colleagues aged 25 and 22 were injured, all three worked as labourers on the site.

The crane is working on a high rise residential complex, main contractor/developer is Numbus, while the lifting work is being handled by the Ascent Group.
