Kubota UK restructurers management

Dave Roberts has been appointed sales and marketing general manager of Kubota UK’s three product sectors, having left the company in 2010 after 21 years service.

The newly created title has Roberts resuming his previous role as head of sales and marketing for the Tractor and Groundwork division, however he is now also responsible for overseeing both the company’s Construction and Engine sectors.

Previous to this appointment the head of sales and marketing for each product sector would report directly to the managing director. The company has said that with all three reporting through Roberts it will bring a unified approach to its operating methods.

Daniel Grant has been appointed as the Engine sales and marketing manager and Neil Winfield as the Construction sales and marketing manager. Both will report directly to Roberts.

Roberts said: “The idea behind my appointment is to bring benefits to our customers with a more unified approach to our operating methods. This will make more efficient use of our resources and enable a common message with regards to marketing. We have retained industry expertise where appropriate, but are now able to deploy common resources that transcend the divisions such as marketing, demonstration activities and to a degree, administration.”

Winfield joined Kubota in 1999 as an administrator in the Engines division before moving to the Construction division in 2001 as distribution coordinator. His role previous to this appointment was as the sales coordinator. Grant joined Kubota in 2005 as a sales engineer in the Industrial Diesel division. He had progressed to regional sales manager before this appointment.

Having left the company in 2010, Roberts joined Farol as the operations director however he added: “The opportunity to come back into in the new role as GM was too good to pass up.”
