Active joins the Link

Scottish rental company Active Access of Hamilton has joined the Access Link, the UK based association of independent regional access rental companies, as its member for Scotland.

The company replaces Plantfinder which leaves the Link effective with the annual Vertikal Days meeting last week.

Active’s managing director Andrew McCusker said: “We applied to join two years ago and were very pleased to be voted on board at long last.”

Malcolm Bowers of Lifterz and current chairman of the Access Link added: “The Link is very pleased to have Active Access and Andrew McCusker on board, it is also interesting to note that we now have four IPAF Council members among our membership. Andrew likes to be involved so he will be of great value in bringing good ideas to our meetings.”

Andrew McCusker (L) of Active Access gives Tim Ward of Niftylift a final arm twist as he agrees a £500k deal at Vertikal Days

Active has a fleet of 200 aerial work platforms and in order to gear up to support demand from the Link members ordered a large amount of new equipment at Vertikal Days, including a £500,000 spend with Niftylift for new Hybrid boom lifts.

Vertikal Comment

This is a good move for the Link in that Active has a far more progressive and outgoing attitude to the market than the company it replaces, while McCusker is dedicated to contributing as much as he can to the industry as a whole and will - for want of a better word – be a very active… member within the Link and at its meetings.
