Man and lift lost in river

A man is missing after he and the aerial lift he was using fell off of a barge in the Mississippi River near St Louis Missouri, yesterday. Rescue teams suspended the search for the man yesterday evening and will resume again later today.

The missing man is a carpenter working on the new Mississippi River bridge for a joint venture team of Massman and Traylor Brothers - Alberici is the main contractor.

Reports say that the man had a life jacket on when he fell into the river but that the jacket was found. Divers are also thought to have located the aerial lift.

We have no information on what caused the lift to leave the barge.
