Two new 60ft lifts from Snorkel

Snorkel will unveil a new 60ft scissor lift and all new 62ft articulated boom lift at Conexpo in March.

The 60ft platform height S6090RT will be the largest the company has ever built and possibly the highest of its kind. Most major manufacturers – Skyjack, JLG, Haulotte and Genie- produce lifts with this sort of performance, but no higher than 50ft.

The Snorkel S6090RT 60ft platform height scissor lift

To find a higher scissor lift requires a move to the ultra heavy duty scissor lift suppliers/designs such as Holland Lift, JLG-Liftlux, HAB and PB.

The new Snorkel scissor has standard twin deck extensions providing a fully extended platform length of 7.3 metres. Maximum lift capacity is 568kgs, while power comes from a 44hp Kubota diesel. The S6090RT will be the largest unit in what will be a family of four twin-deck, Rough Terrain scissors, the other models will have platform heights of 32ft, 43ft and 52ft.

The S6090RT will have standard auto-levelling hydraulic levelling jacks, with the option to specify no stabilisers on the lower height units, which will also feature platform capacities of up to 900kgs.

The second new model destined for the show will be an all new 62ft articulated Rough Terrain boom lift, the A62JRT- the second unit in the company’s ‘Polaris’ boom family – It shares its chassis and many other components with the first Polaris model introduced at last year’s ARA the 46ft T46JRTstraight telescopic boom lift.

The Snorkel A62JRT

The new A62J, which will replace the current AB62, will offer 13 metres of outreach and an ‘up and over’ clearance of nine metres. A 2.4 metre articulated jib supports a standard 2.4 metre wide platform with three-way entry and 227kgs capacity.

Richard Tindale, Snorkel’s sales and marketing director, said: “We are really excited about the new A62JRT. Together with the recently launched A46JRT, T46JRT and T66JRT, it provides us with a range of mid-sized booms which deliver a performance equal to or better than any other product on the market, while retaining Snorkel’s trump card of easy service, trouble-shooting and repair.”

“The Polaris boom family and our newly extended range of twin-deck scissors mean we are very well placed to take advantage of the forthcoming upturn in demand for new aerial lifts in construction applications”.
