Vertikal.Net on the move

If all goes well vertikal.Net will move to a new high speed dedicated server tonight September 7th.
As you are aware if you are a regular user of the site, our current host has been struggling to cope with both the increased intensity of the traffic and the size of the database. This resulted in a major slow down at the end of the European summer break at the end of August.
In the past week we have identified a new host company that specialises in large busy internet sites such as Vertikal now is, issued a contract and started transferring data. At the same time we are taking the opportunity to update our operating programmes and following further testing today, should be ready to move tonight.
Experience tells us that no matter how well you plan Internet moves or upgrades there will be problems or issues. Hopefully that will not apply today, but in case it does please bear with us. We are told that the whole thing will be worthwhile and will allow us to carry on expanding the site to meet your requirements.
