Mammoet adds to Kobelco order

Dutch based crane rental and heavy lift company Mammoet has ordered four more 250 tonne Kobelco CKE2500-2 crawler cranes. The order adds to the five units the company ordered at Bauma earlier this year

The first three units of the original order have already been delivered to Santos Port near Sao Paolo, Brazil. Their first project in Rio Grande is the construction of a large new dry-dock facility for the off-shore industry, being constructed by Mammoet/IRGA for Petrobas.

All nine of Mammoet’s new Kobelco cranes are destined for civil construction, oil and energy-related projects – in locations ranging from Brazil, to the Middle-East, and the Russian island of Sakhalin. Mammoet is confident that the Kobelco cranes can handle the environmental extremes, including high humidity, extreme heat and extreme cold.

The cranes are being supplied with main booms of up to 91.4 metres with 61metre boom plus 61metre luffing jib combinations possible. All have tilt cabs.
