Mother makes plea for crane safety

July 29, 2010 | Comments (0)

Osha has released a very powerful interview with Diane Lillicrap the mother of a young apprentice crane operator Steven Lillicrap, who died in February 2009 while dismantling a 100 tonne crawler crane in St Louis County, Missouri.

She refers to the new US crane standard released yesterday, however the main point she makes is that it is that short cuts often lead to accidents and accidents affect more than just those who are injured or die.

In its way it is highly motivational and deserves to be seen by all those working in construction. Click here to view the video

The original report on the accident was also carried on this website at the time. Click here to see that original report Crane rigger fatality
