King Lifting orders new 350 tonne Terex

King Lifting - the Bristol, UK-based crane rental company – has ordered three new Terex All Terrain cranes to its fleet including the new 350 tonne, AC350/6 and two 40 tonners. The deal which was completed at Bauma includes two 37.4 metre long-boom 40 tonne AC40/2 L and a new 350 tonne, 64 metre main boom AC350/6 with 72 metre luffing jib giving the maximum boom combination length of 125.7 metres. With a total length of 16.7 metres Terex claims the AC350/6 is the smallest and most compact six axle crane in its class.

King Lifting’s Tristan and Kieron King travelled to Bauma and finalised the deal with Terex Cranes’ director of sales, Euope Barry Barnes and UK regional sales manager Mark Evans.

“We see an increasing demand from existing customers for larger capacity cranes,” said Tristan King. “The AC350/6 will be the largest crane in the fleet which previously was a 250 tonne capacity Terex Demag AC250-1.”
King said that there is still good demand for the smaller capacity All Terrains – particularly with long booms - because of restricted site access.

“We chose the AC350 because of its specification, delivery date and because of the good working relationship we have built up with Terex over the years,” said King.

King Lifting continues to grow reaching third largest UK crane rental company in the 2009 Cranes & Access Top 30. With the recent additions, its fleet is now approaching 100 cranes operating from eight depots. The company was started by Bob King in 1982.
