Platform Sales acquires BAR

Platform Sales & Hire of Leighton Buzzard, UK has acquired Bucks Access Rentals (BAR) of Milton Keynes.

BAR was established in 2005 by owner Simon Rush who along with fellow director Steve Ottewill has built the business into a strong local operation with 75 platforms, most of them Nifty lifts.

Platform Sales & Hire is owned and managed by Chris Caney and Duncan Howard, who have largely focused on selling both standard and customised access equipment to end users, both in the UK and overseas. Over the years they have though built up a 30 unit rental fleet, many of which are on longer term contracts. The company also has an active training operation.

Caney said: “We have collaborated with BAR for some time and we like the team spirit the company has, along with the reputation it has built up. The purchase makes good sense with it becoming a second access centre for us while combining our strengths.”

Caney also confirmed that BAR will retain its Milton Keynes base along with the local staff, in spite of its proximity to Leighton Buzzard. Rush will remain on board at the very list for a transition period.
